This course is taught over a year in six 2-day workshops, leading towards a ‘Certificate in Reflective Practice & Pastoral Supervision’.

Who is the course for?

This course has been running for six years and is designed for:

  • Ordained and Lay Ministers
  • Spiritual Directors and Chaplains
  • Pastoral Care Team Leaders
  • Counsellors, Psychotherapists and Clinical Supervisors

How do I qualify?

This course is suitable for you if:

  • You are currently engaged in pastoral and ministerial work in your context
  • You have supervisory responsibilities within your setting
  • You have at least 2 separate situations in which you offer pastoral supervision
  • You have good listening skills
  • You comply with your professional Code of Ethics

What will I gain on completion?

On completion:

  • You will be able to give and receive pastoral supervision, working as a reflective practitioner with individuals and groups
  • You will have met the training criteria for accreditation by APSE
  • The award of ‘Certificate in Reflective Practice & Pastoral Supervision’ is made by the Institute of Pastoral Counselling www.pastoral-counselling.co.uk
  • The course is recognised by APSE, by the Institute for Pastoral Supervision & Reflective Practice www.ipsrp.org.uk and endorsed by the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham
