IPSRP runs ongoing professional training in Pastoral and in Cross-Professional Supervision. The Certificate and Diploma courses are run twice per year with additional bespoke courses for specific audiences.
Since its inception in 2009 the course has attracted students from the UK, France, Greece, Malta, Australia and New Zealand. Alumni include adult educators, art therapists, chaplains, children’s support workers, clergy, coaches, community activists, counsellors, critical incident stress management facilitators, dance movement psychotherapists, dramatherapists, faith leaders, music therapists, nurses, play therapists, psychodramatists, religious sisters, social workers, therapeutic support workers and university lecturers. Graduates come from a range of spiritual traditions including Buddhism, Christianity, Humanists, Judaism, One Spirit InterFaith Ministry and Sufism.
The Course Director is Dr Michael Paterson author of Pastoral Supervision: Creativity in Action (2021) Between a Rock and a Hard Place: Pastoral Supervision Revisited and Revisioned (2020) Pastoral Supervision: A Handbook (2010 and 2015) and Empowering Ministry: Pastoral Supervision in Context (2014). Michael is a founding member of APSE and Associate Professor of Supervision Alpha Crucis College, Australia.
