Pastoral Supervision in the South West

Peter Henderson writes: “The South West Regional Group met on Wednesday 16th May in Exeter. This time we attempted to make the meeting more accessible to members in the more south-westerly parts of our extensive region. Six members attended and several others offered apologies.
Before having lunch together we shared methods and techniques for encouraging supervisees to express themselves beyond simple face-to-face interaction; we pooled 10 of these.
After lunch we discussed own experiences of difficult interactions with people (not necessarily supervisees)
and sought to learn from these for the benefit of those with whom we work.
We decided to meet on two further occasions this year: in Bristol probably in late July, and in Exeter again in late September of early October; the latter meeting will focus on sharing reports of the annual conference. Details will be published in due course.”
